The Saskatchewan River


This is an interesting video of the spring break up on the Saskatchewan River system much further up stream from our riding area. I think you could call this a river avalanche, for lack of a better term. You can never be to cautious on moving water. I question anyone's perceived ability to out run such a cascade of water, ice and dirt scraped up from the bottom. The article indicates that this has occurred on the Codette Reservoir which I would guess is also known as Codette Lake east of highway #6. This would make May 1st 2013, a bad time to be on one of our winter freeways to the north.
